Ventoutt - Online Therapy, Coaching and Anonymous Venting Platform
A wooden signpost pointing toward different paths, representing the choice between therapy, coaching, venting and self-guided apps

Compare Mental Wellness Support Options

Before comparing providers, work out which category you need. Licensed therapy and psychiatry are clinical care and can assess, diagnose and treat. Coaching is structured support for practical goals in everyday life. Peer support and venting give you somewhere to be heard. Self-guided apps give you tools to use alone. These are different jobs, and comparing prices across them tells you almost nothing.

Choose the kind of help first. Then compare what you receive, who provides it and the full cost, including any insurance benefits.

What do you get with Ventoutt coaching?

If coaching is the job you need, this is what Ventoutt coaching includes:

  1. Experienced psychology professionals. Coaches are MA/PhD psychology professionals, minimum three years’ experience, based in India. Some coaches are affiliated with the American Psychological Association (APA), as shown on their profiles.
  2. Screened for more than a degree. Every coach is screened before working with clients, and not only on paper: screening looks at fluent English, listening, emotional maturity, professional boundaries, an understanding of US young adults’ lives, and knowing when someone needs a different level of care. Here’s what qualifications to look for in a mental wellness coach.
  3. At home with US life. Coach selection considers familiarity with campus life, early-career work, shared housing, dating apps and mutual-friend dynamics in the US. Some coaches have experience working with clients in the US. Here’s how an India-based coach works with US clients.
  4. Room to talk, and a plan. Talk it all through with someone outside your circle who has no side to take. Then agree on one thing to say or do this week, and look at how it went next time — instead of the same conversation on repeat.
  5. The same coach, between sessions too. The same coach each time, so you don’t start the story from the beginning — they remember what you tried and what happened. On a monthly plan, 24/7 connectivity — message your coach any time; they reply as soon as they can, generally within 24 hours — what ongoing text support includes.
  6. Easy to start, easy to switch. First 50 coaching texts free for eligible new users. Matching targeted within 24 hours. Ventoutt assigns your first coach; if the fit isn’t right, you can change coach from the available options. Changing coach is free. See how matching works and when changing coach makes sense.
  7. A price you see before you start. $35 single session with no subscription — 45–60 minutes, by chat or video. A monthly plan is one payment and runs for 30 days from the day you buy it. It doesn’t renew on its own; to keep going, you buy another month. No insurance needed.
  8. A route onward if you need more. A coach who thinks you need licensed care can refer you to a licensed therapist.

Coaching does not diagnose or treat. If you need clinical care, we will help you find it.

If You Have Insurance, Check That First

A licensed counselor listening during a supportive one-on-one session

This is the part most comparison pages leave out, and it matters more than anything else on this page.

If you have US health insurance with mental health benefits, licensed therapy may cost you less than any coaching subscription — including ours. Eligible insurance may apply with providers such as BetterHelp and Talkspace; coverage, copay, deductible and provider availability vary, so check with the provider and your plan. In that case you would be getting licensed clinical care, not coaching, and your out-of-pocket cost may be lower than ours.

So check your coverage before you compare anything else. If therapy is what you need and your plan covers it, that is the answer, and it is not the one that sends you to us.

Where self-pay is your reality — no coverage, a high deductible, or mental health excluded — the comparison looks very different, and that is the situation most of this page is written for.

Comparing Support for a Breakup?

The category question is the same but the examples are different, and the decision usually turns on whether you need to be heard, to change a pattern, or to get clinical care. See coach vs therapist vs venting after a breakup or visit the breakup recovery hub.

Comparing Support for a Relationship Problem?

A couple on a sofa talking something through

A relationship that is still going adds a question the table above doesn't ask: is the help for one of you, or for both of you? Couples therapy is licensed care for two people together, and Ventoutt doesn't offer it. What Ventoutt offers for a relationship problem is coaching for one person — mental wellness coaching for everyday issues, aimed at your side of it: the words for a hard conversation, and one thing to do differently next time. See how relationship coaching works, or read relationship coach or couples therapist: how to choose if you're deciding between going alone and going together.

One thing comes before any comparison. If you feel afraid of your partner, or pressured or controlled by them, specialist support comes before any of them, and seeing a licensed therapist by yourself stays open to you: read how to tell a relationship problem from controlling behavior.

Client Story
“I've tried coaching and therapy platforms before, but Ventoutt felt different( in a good way offcourse). Coaches are very professional here and it feels like they genuinely care. Paying $35 for a video session and this level of care honestly feels unreal but guyssss its true haha.”

Client Story
“I was pretty awkward going into my first session because I had no idea what I was supposed to say. I thought there would be a lot of ‘so how does that make you feel?’ type stuff, lol. It was actually way more normal than I expected. My coach asked really good questions and helped me untangle what I was trying to say without making the conversation feel forced.”

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between coaching and therapy?

Licensed therapy can assess, diagnose and treat clinical conditions, within the clinician’s license and your state. Coaching is structured support for practical goals, routines, boundaries and decisions — it cannot diagnose or treat.

Should I check my insurance before comparing prices?

Yes — this is the step most comparison pages leave out. If you have US health insurance with mental health benefits, licensed therapy may cost you less than any coaching subscription, including ours.

Is venting the same as therapy or coaching?

No. Listening supports being heard, coaching offers support for everyday challenges with an agreed focus, and licensed therapy can include assessment and treatment. Check the scope and availability of the specific service you choose.

Why compare by category instead of by price?

Because the services do different jobs. Comparing a $5 venting session to a licensed therapy subscription on price alone ignores that only one of them can provide clinical treatment — the comparison that matters is which job you actually need done.

How often are the prices on this page updated?

Prices, insurance, features and availability can change. Check the provider and your health plan before purchasing. Last fact-check: 16 September 2026.
